that key change saved my life.

half-step

recently one of the authors of this blog took his life to a new level. a shift upward into the unknown. from living in the comfort and security of a life that that had slowly perfected itself, to an improbable situation which leans towards uncertainty and relies on grace and patience of others. having not forgot former things, the author goes out on this adventure not in an attempt to forget the past and start anew, but rather as an ambassador of the things that created him in their image. he goes out on this adventure because he loves the former things to such a great extent. a necessary departure in hope of a safe return.

that key change saved my life

The key change.  A lost art seemingly left to previous generations.  Since the dawn of music, composers have utilized this technique to present a theme or progression in another light so as to change the mood of a song.  How have we as a society turned our ears from such triumph?  Our purpose here is to challenge listeners to appreciate the power that comes with that half-step upward shift.  Embrace it.  Incorporate it into your music, your life, or your friendships.  The key change is a metaphor for life.  No matter how good things are, you can always take it to the next level.

Above, Phil Collins takes us to the next level at 2:52.  Enjoy, please.
